Well, what was it?  I remember my first song was One.  That was because I saw Songs in the Key of Beotch at the library one day and decided to listen because I heard That 1 Guy was touring with Buckethead.  I was shocked at what I heard, but I loved it.  How about you?

One is also the first song I heard. One of my brother's friends said I would like That 1 Guy. Turns out he was right.

I heard "Buttmachine" I'd hoped to see him at Blissfest 08, but due to crappy circumstances, T1G was not able to perform. It took me until February of last year to finally look him up and the video for Buttmachine was everywhere. I proceeded to listen and dance to that song for three months straight. =)

I dug first Joyful Noise but then the moon is disgusting came out and then the Frankenstein Brothers and the DVD and now Packs a Wallop, the wealth of sounds T1G can bring out of the majik pipe is just mind blowing.

I'm having a hard time remembering (the "fuzzies") what was the first thing I heard... probably Weasel Potpie or One. I remember hearing/seeing that he was opening for Buckethead and then I had to find out what he was all about. So I found out that he was playing here in Ottawa and I got the bug. Of course, there was never any looking back. I was (like most) immediately addicted and forced to sell my body on the streetcorner to feed my habit.. after seeing him LIVE the need only got worse, pretty soon I was up to 2 or 3 CD's a day... then when The Frankenstein Brothers came along my prayers had been answered (I said repeatedly on uToob comments that they should oughtta do an album!) and I'm still holding out for a follow-up. Those two are in a class all their own and they make beautiful music together.

I have seen T1G 6 times now I think, and it just keeps on getting better. I always refer to myself as "That 1 Fan" (it was waayyyy worse on the old messageboard where there was like me and 3 other people (ok, I exaggerate, maybe 5) and posts were on a monthly, almost yearly frequency) and I volunteer every chance I get. Annie (my 6 yr. old Daughter) is a huge fan now too and both my kids call him "Uncle Mike". My Wife is finally on-board now too after last Summer's Folkfest, she finally got to see him in action and like the rest of us, the hook was/is undeniable.

Seeing is believing. His show is %99 visual, and that's saying something because his music is just so damned good too! It's always fun to watch an entire audience be "converted" right in front of your eyes. He has that effect.

i first remember One and The Moon is Disgusting and i thought he was really good. So when i saw him w/Buckethead i thought he was pretty good. But when i saw him in full form with his own two sets i thought "wow i'm really digging this!"

so now i try to get people to see him live first cause that's really how you should see T1G.

Play it double-time slow... I like it half fast. Half-assed!

Suddenly I feel the need to be snoring?

Live is definitely THE way to discover T1G. He blows minds.

10,000 Lakes Music Festival 2007 @ the Barn Stage...Happen to be walking by with my beer and heard "Dig". I was hooked ever since then...not just by the originality of the sound, but the lyrics were amazing. I've been addicted to the magic pipe ever since.

He opened for Particle at Mazotti's in Arcata, CA in 2006 I think. I hadn't planned on going, but a friend who was working for the production company called me up during his set and said I had to come down and see what was going on, that there was a dude playing some kind of string instrument with midi triggers all over it. He was playing the saw when I walked in the door, so I guess it was prolly the Rainbow jam. Needless to say I really dug what I saw, hook , line, and shrinker. Isn't it great when something amazing happens that you didn't expect?

Particle was cool, but I found myself wishing they didn't show up and That 1 Guy had to play three sets to quell a small hippie riot. Or start one.
