That 1 Guy

I was just able to go to one of That 1 Guy's shows in New York the other day at Sullivan Hall (So amazing). It was the second time i was graced with his performance, the first being in CT when he toured with Buckethead(Totally upstaged buckethead). I own all of his albums but nothing is quite the same as his live renditions. I think that it could quite possibly be the best album ever, if he were to record some of his songs live, and make an album. Don't get me wrong, I love all his music. But the live songs have so much more emotion and i think it would be amazing to have all that captured on a CD. Does anyone agree with me here, or am i standing alone on this one?

well i have gotten the bootleg albums from the bootleg forum. they are pretty good. but the main problem is that half the reason his shows are so amazing is how visual he is with his music and all of the props and whatnot. also the live in the land of oz dvd while good just did not fully capture everything his small shows are about. so i feel another dvd might be the better way to go instead of a live album
Agreed. A new DVD would be way better for just that reason, his shows are visually intoxicating. Any time that somebody at a show asks me what they should buy I always say if you're only buying 1 thing then make it the Oz DVD. When listening to the boots you can hear the pauses for performance and I'm constantly wondering what magic trick he's doing while everyone's going crazy.

I still really like that big album of instrumentals idea, that would really be a great thing, then follow it up with a live DVD capturing all the newest of the new.

an insturmental album would be kind of cool. and the thing about the dvd is tht it should be in a small venue you and no cuts or editing so you get the full experience including the back and forth banter between the crowd and him

Regrettably I do not yet own the DVD, so I cant say I quite get what you mean. But the idea of a small venue that he played recorded without editing sounds exactly like what the world needs
